Immediate funding is necessary to assist TK through young adults up to age 21 by providing coverage for in-office eye exams and prescription lenses for those enrolled in MediCAL or Partnership insurance who did not pass the school vision exam. About 35 percent of students evaluated by school nurses for vision issues fail the screening and require an eye doctor’s assessment. Many of these individuals struggle with insufficient funds or lack of insurance.
About Us
WSF has been a continuous non-profit for over fifteen years in Yolo County, supporting youth activities within the public school district. These activities include financial support of athletic, agricultural, creative arts, and music programs, as well as stipends for safety personnel such as cross-walking guards. Over the years, donations have provided uniforms for athletes, help with transportation costs to competitions, stipends for athletic coaches, supplies and funding for agricultural programs, funding for music programs to purchase supplies, and stipends for individuals essential to the safety of students. Current funding is needed to provide much needed First Aid/CPR Training for K-12 classroom teachers to help them prepare for classroom emergencies.
Our Board
For more than twenty years, the Woodland Schools Foundation has successfully raised over $200,000, which has been allocated to an extensive range of educational programs aimed at fostering our students’ academic development. These include GATE programs, music initiatives, STEM educational resources, culinary arts, sports, agricultural programs, and much more. This past December, we were thrilled to provide each school principal with $1,000 to support student incentive activities, all made possible by the generous support of last year’s event.
Mission
Woodland Schools Foundation works to support students and teachers at our local public schools. With your help, WSF funds help to educate students and to support after school activities.
